IN BRIEF: Vinanz balloons hardware roster with 100 new Bitcoin miners

26th Jun 2023 11:27

Vinanz Ltd - British Virgin Islands-registered Bitcoin mining company - Says 100 new Bitmain Antminer S19J Pro application-specific integrated circuit Bitcoin miners are now fully operational. Purchase was announced in late April following Vinanz's listing on Aquis. Hardware was installed at a data centre in Labrador, Canada under a fixed-price hosting and services agreement. Miners are running at combined processing power of 10.4 petahash per second. In computing, a hash function turns an input into a string of bytes with fixed length and structure. Acquisition increases Vinanz's operational ASIC miners to 120 and increases its combined processing power to 12 petahash per second.

Executive Chair David Lenigas says: "This..deployment in Labrador has demonstrated the success of our expansion model of building out a decentralised cluster of Bitcoin miners in the USA and Canada using third party data centres to host and manage our machines as opposed to owning our own infrastructure. We see now that this model works well for us, and [it] can be expanded on and rolled out."

Current stock price: 2.75 pence

12-month change: down 16% from April 21
