Vaalco Energy Inc - Houston-based hydrocarbon exploration company - Files a USD150 million shelf registration statement with the US Securities & Exchange Commission. Once declared effective, the statement will be in place for three years. Vaalco said this will allow the company the flexibility to offer and sell up to USD150 million in shares, warrants and other units in one or more offerings in the US, where Vaalco has a listing on the New York Stock Exchange. Chief Executive George Maxwell said the company has no immediate plans to issue shares in the US. Looking forward, Vaalco said it is focused on the continued development of its interest in its offshore Gabon project in West Africa.

Year-to-date change: up 88% from 126.50p on January 12
