IN BRIEF: UK CMA to rule on CVS buy of Quality Pet Care by February 18

CVS Group PLC - Norfolk-based veterinary services - The UK Competition & Markets Authority launches an inquiry into CVS's acquisition of Quality Pet Care Ltd. The competition watchdog has until February 18 to make a phase one decision. The CMA had said back in September that it would look into the GBP20.4 million acquisition. Quality Pet Care, which trades as The Vet and has eight practices across the UK, was bought by CVS on August 19. Norfolk-based CVS owns 506 veterinary practices in the UK, Ireland and Netherlands.

Current stock price: 2,304.00 pence, up 1.1% on Wednesday

Year-to-date change: up 53%
