IN BRIEF: Thor Mining gets favourable pump test results at Alford East

18th Oct 2021 20:23

Thor Mining PLC - precious, base, energy and strategic metal projects in the US and Australia - Says it finishes initial aquifer pump test at Alford East Copper-Gold area, South Africa. Copper-gold mineralisation at the test site is saturated below the water table which is essential for In Situ Recovery production. Groundwater salinity reports in the range of 15,000 to 55,000 milligrams per litre total dissolved solids. This is classed as saline and precludes agricultural or potable use.

Nicole Galloway Warland, managing director of Thor Mining, says: "Pump testing of our initial water bore has shown favourable water characterisation and permeability for potential In Situ copper-gold recovery at our Alford East Project. This is positive news as we progress the project towards ISR assessment and development of an environmentally, low carbon emission alternative to conventional open cut and underground mining."
