TBC Bank Group PLC - Tbilisi, Georgia-based bank - Named 25-year veteran and artificial intelligence expert Abhijit Akerkar as an independent non-executive director, effective immediately. Akerkar has experience in operating at a strategic level at the forefront of technology for Lloyds Banking Group PLC, McKinsey & Co, and HCL Technologies Ltd. He has served as an expert advisor to All Part Parliamentary Committee on artificial intelligence over the last three years and has been published for his work on artificial intelligence by "leading institutes". TBC Chair Nikoloz Enukidze said: "We are delighted to welcome Abhijit Akerkar to TBC. Abhijit brings digital and machine intelligence skills and a wide-range of global experience to the board that we believe will prove valuable for the future development of the group".
