Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC - Cheltenham, England-based thermal energy management and pumping - Hires Richard Gillingwater as independent non-executive director, effective immediately. Gillingwater will replace Trudy Schoolenberg as senior independent director when she steps down after nine years on August 1. Gillingwater is currently chair of electricity utility SSE PLC but will step down later this month. He also is senior independent director of hospitality firm Whitbread PLC. In his executive career as an investment banker, Gillingwater worked at Kleinwort Benson, Credit Suisse and Barclays de Zoete Wedd.
