IN BRIEF: Some Mountview Shareholders Unwilling To Engage After Revolt

12th Feb 2021 13:36

Mountview Estates PLC - London-headquartered property manager - Says Non-Executive Chair Mhairi Powell and Non-Executive Director Tony Archibald have been re-elected despite failure to get approval from shareholders. In August, over 32% of shareholders voted against Powell's re-election, while over 30% were against Archibald's re-appointment. Shareholders also showed disapproval of the company's director remuneration policy, with over 30% voting against it. On top of that, over 30% voted against the re-appointment of BSG as the company's auditors. Mountview said it was "disappointed" by the votes and would engage with shareholders to obtain feedback on their concerns.

On Friday, Mountview says at a general meeting in November, as it was entitled to convene in accordance with the Financial Conduct Authority's Listing Rules, both Archibald and Powell were re-elected. It adds that while it has and will continue to try to engage with shareholders, some are unwilling to enter into discussions.
