IN BRIEF: Solid State wins three-year USD4.6 million defence contract

Solid State PLC - Worcestershire-based computing products manufacturer - Says its value added supplies division, Solid State Supplies, has secured a GBP4.6 million three-year contract renewal with a global defence technology customer. The firm will supply components for the customer's defence aerospace programme with the contract adding USD800,000 to Solid State's open order book in the first year.

Managing Director John Macmichael comments: "The renewal contract with this long-standing customer, who is very well-respected in its sector, is a testament to Solid State's emphasis on good customer relationships and the market-leading nature of our value added products."

Current stock price: 905 pence, up 2.8% today

Year-to-date change: up 25%
