SolGold PLC - Australian gold and copper mining company with operations in Ecuador and Australia - Receives final assay results for its Porvenir project, held by subsidiary Green Rock Resources SA and located in southern Ecuador. Sees 0.53% copper equivalent grade, or 0.40% copper and 0.18 grams per tonne of gold, from 10 metres at a cut-off grade of 0.10% copper equivalent. Says the third drill hole is at a current depth of 593 metres and has intersected visible chalcopyrite copper sulphide mineralisation over a distinct zone from 24 metres to 136 metres.
Solgold Technical Services Manager Benn Whistler says: "The assay results from the first hole at Porvenir totalling almost 900 metres at a half percent copper equivalent is an encouraging start to the Cacharposa drilling program. This couples with the strong copper and molybdenum assay results received over the final metres of the first drill hole to make the project even more interesting, leaving the system still open toward the east."
