IN BRIEF: SigmaRoc signs joint venture with Carrieres du Boulonnais

SigmaRoc PLC - London-based building materials company - Signs joint venture with construction firm Carrieres du Boulonnais. Based in Leulinghen-Bernes in north-west France, Carrieres is part of Groupe Carrieres du Boulonnais, which has become a 25% shareholder in Granulats du Hainaut.

The joint venture aims to expand Granulats du Hainaut, a subsidiary of SigmaRoc, into a Benelux and Northern France wide supplier of limestone products. Carrieres du Boulonnais will assist in increasing Granulats du Hainaut's presence in these areas, it says.

SigmaRoc Chief Executive Max Vermorken comments: "It is a real privilege to sign a joint venture agreement with a quarried materials group of the renown of Groupe Carrieres du Boulonnais. Our collaboration is strategically, technically and financially a major step forward as we build our footprint in the Benelux and North French markets. We thank Groupe Carrieres du Boulonnais for their confidence in SigmaRoc and aim to make our collaboration a real success."

As part of the joint venture agreement,Carrieres du Boulonnais will co-fund the new crushing and screening installations planned to be built by 2024 at Granulats du Hainaut's aggregates operations.

Current stock price: 98.17 pence, up 5.6% on Tuesday
