IN BRIEF: SigmaRoc placing raises GBP260 million to fund Nordkalk buy

SigmaRoc PLC - London-based building materials company - Raises GBP260 million in a placing of 305.9 million new shares, priced at 85 pence each. Says the placing proceeds will be used to pay the EUR270 million cash element of its total EUR470 million deal to buy Northern-European limestone-products business Nordkalk.

Previously announced that, alongside the placing, the acquisition will be funded by a drawdown of EUR150 million under a new GBP305 million banking facility, an issue of EUR50 million in SigmaRoc shares to Nordkalk's owner Rettig Group Oy AB.

Raises further GBP1.6 million in a retail offer for 1.9 million new shares at placing price. Anticipates admission of enlarged share capital on London's AIM market by late August, pending shareholder approval and clearance from the Polish Competition Office.

Current stock price: 93.90 pence, up 4.9% on Friday

Year-to-date change: up 49%
