Shires Income PLC - investment trust - Notes the announcement of a strategic review by its investee abrdn Smaller Cos Income Trust PLC. Says that it has been discussing a "proposal" with ASCIT and its advisers over the last few months, which it believed would have delivered benefits for all shareholders involved. Stresses that the proposal did not see the company making any offer for ASCIT. Holds a 14% stake in ASCIT.
