Skillcast Group PLC - London-based e-learning software and content - Shares gain 14% on first day of trading on AIM market in London, quoted at 42 pence late Wednesday, compared to initial pubic offering price of 37p. Skillcast raised GBP4.5 million for the company and selling shareholders from the IPO and started public life with a GBP33.1 million market capitalisation. Vela Technologies PLC says it invested GBP250,000 in the IPO and now holds 675,676 Skillcast shares, a 0.8% stake. Allenby Capital is the nominated adviser and broker for Skillcast.
The 20-year-old software firm operates from London and Malta and provides staff training to blue-chip companies such as Schroders PLC, Fresnillo PLC and British Land Co PLC. It will use the IPO proceeds to invest in the development of its client self-service portal.
