Shanta Gold Ltd - gold mining company, which operates in east Africa - Reports the results of an independent scoping study for the high grade West Kenya project in western Kenya. The study shows that life of mine gold production is forecast to be 949,000 ounces, with average annual gold production of 105,000 ounces for nine years. Open pit mining is to last for two years followed by underground mining, the company says. Turning to costs, Shanta says estimated pre-production capital cost stands at USD161 million.
