Seneca Growth Capital VCT PLC - St. Helens, England-based investment firm - For six months ended June 30 posts a total return per ordinary share of 12.8 pence compared to negative 0.2p a year previously. Net asset value per ordinary share of 39.0 pence at June 30, a 16% increase on the opening NAV for the period. Seneca's NAV per B share also improves to 104.6p up from 89.3p a year before.
Seneca pays an interim dividend of 4.0p per ordinary share and 1.5p per B share.
"Notwithstanding the significant challenges faced by the UK economy since the onset of Covid-19, we are encouraged by the positive progress being made by the B share pool," comments Chair John Hustler.
"As at March 30, just after the onset of Covid, the B share NAV stood at 79.5p per share. By June 30, the increase in total return per B share amounted to 109.1p per B share – a performance which we believe will be very well received by our B share investors in these unprecedented times."
