IN BRIEF: Scottish Oriental Smaller Cos raises GBP30 million of debt

Scottish Oriental Smaller Cos Trust PLC - investment firm - Agrees to issue GBP30 million of long-term, fixed rate, senior, unsecured privately placed notes providing it with long-term financing. The new privately placed notes are being issued in one tranche, with a fixed coupon of 2.75% to be repaid in March 2041. The coupon will be payable semi-annually.

Chair James Ferguson says: "I am delighted that Scottish Oriental Smaller Cos Trust has been able to raise private placement debt at highly attractive long-term rates. The board is confident that the investment of these proceeds will enhance the long-term returns for our shareholders."

Current stock price: 1,015.00 pence, up 0.5% on Tuesday

Year-to-date change: up 4.0%
