IN BRIEF: Rentokil says Trian buys GBP31 million worth of shares

Rentokil Initial PLC - Crawley, England-based pest control services provider - Trian Fund Management LP buys 7.5 million shares at 413.31 pence each, GBP31.0 million in total. Activist investor Trian won a seat on the Rentokil board earlier this year. Trian's Brian Baldwin joined the Rentokil board in October. In June, Trian said it was a top 10 shareholder in Rentokil, adding that it reached out to the company to discuss ideas and initiatives to improve shareholder value. The shares bought represent roughly a 0.3% stake in Rentokil.

Current stock price: 414.70 pence, up 4.0% in London on Friday, for a GBP10.47 billion market capitalisation.
