Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC - Slough, England-based consumer goods maker - Says tornado hits a warehouse used by its Mead Johnson Nutrition business in Mount Vernon, Indiana. All employees are safe but the warehouse, which stores both raw materials and finished products, suffers "significant damage" and its not operational. Reckitt says it has diverted all inbound deliveries to its other warehouses in the US. "Whilst Nutrition sales will likely be affected in the short term, we are working closely with all our stakeholders including customers and suppliers, to minimise disruption," the company says. It adds that insurance is expected to offset any impact on earnings.
Reckitt says it will provide a further update with its interim results on Wednesday next week.
