IN BRIEF: Predator Says Irish Government To Honour Oil & Gas Licences

3rd Feb 2021 13:57

Predator Oil & Gas Holdings PLC - Jersey-based oil & gas company with operations in Trinidad, Morocco and Ireland - Welcomes the renewed commitment on Tuesday by the Irish government to honour existing licences issued by the state for oil and gas. Says all options for energy security in the future that utilise existing oil and gas infrastructure should be explored and that subsurface oil and gas reservoirs "provide a potentially valuable asset for safe carbon dioxide sequestration during the transition to green energy dominance."

"With the natural transition to greener energy, it is incumbent on policy makers and regulators to be inclusive, in order to utilise all the available expertise and practical knowledge to develop a workable policy for carbon dioxide sequestration along the way to a sustainable energy future. To facilitate such developments Predator will work with regulators, where invited to do so, to promote enabling legislation that facilitates carbon dioxide sequestration," says Chief Executive Paul Griffiths.
