IN BRIEF: Power Metal expands Athabasca uranium land package

27th Sep 2021 16:10

Power Metal Resources PLC - exploration company seeking metal discoveries in the US, Australia and Africa - Expands land package within the Athabasca basing in Sasktchewan, Canada, by an increase of ground to 241 square kilometres through the staking of additional ground, as well as the acquisition of three additional uranium properties including the Cook Lake, E-12 and Reitenbach properties.

"Power Metal has now secured a strategic uranium portfolio in Canada, with projects selected after extensive review of unstaked Athabasca Basin opportunities. The staking process has been undertaken rapidly, to ensure the company was able to secure the ground it identified as highly prospective and the choice of ground has been validated by the extensive staking that has wrapped around a number of our properties," says Chief Executive Officer Paul Johnson.

Also on Monday, investee First Class Metals Ltd says it has expanded its flagship Hemlo North project in Canada by further staking 15 new mining cell claims, expanding the overall area to 86.6 square kilometres. In addition, a key technical study has been launched, while First Class has appointed advisors for a potential IPO in London by the end of 2021.
