Petra Diamonds Ltd - majority owner of Williamson diamond mine in Tanzania - Notes a report published on Thursday by NGO RAID identifying "number of alleged human rights abuses relating to the security operations of the Williamson mine". Williamson is 75% owned by Petra, 25% owned by government of Tanzania. "Petra takes these allegations extremely seriously and has been engaging and cooperating with RAID since being made aware of the allegations on 29 August 2020," Petra says. Petra "working hard" to address allegations and creates sub-committee of non-executive directors to oversee the matter.
