Panthera Resources PLC - gold exploration and development company with assets in west Africa and India - Partner Moydow Holdings Ltd, has started drilling at its Paimasa project in Nigeria through Moydow's joint venture company Gurara Holdings Ltd.
The project is located in central Nigeria, about 115 kilometres north-northwest of the capital city Abuja. A programme of 300 metre diamond and 1,250 metre reverse circulation drilling is planned.
Previous drilling by Moydow in nearby tenements at the Dagma prospect, about 45 kilometres to the north-northwest, resulted in the identification of significant gold mineralisation within quartz veins discovered by artisanal miners, Panthera says.
Panthera Managing Director Mark Bolton says the start of drilling at the project is an "important milestone".
