Mercantile Investment Trust PLC - investment trust focused on UK medium and smaller sized firms - Net asset value per share rises to 310.1 pence as at July 31 from 210.9p a year ago. Company produces a total return on net assets of 25%, higher compared to the total return of 18% from benchmark index. Says performance is excellent in both relative and absolute terms and represents a significant improvement from the six months reported last year. Mercantile Investment Trust declares first 2022 quarterly dividend of 1.35p per share, unchanged from last year.
