Man Group PLC - London-based hedge fund manager - Increases amount of assets under management in first quarter ended March 31. Amount of assets under management rise to USD151.4 billion from USD148.6 billion quarter-on-quarter. Annually, assets rise from USD127.0 billion. Compared to a year ago, net inflows increase to USD3.1 billion from USD0.6 billion.
Total investment performance detracts USD300 million from first quarter net flows. Positive investment performance from alternative strategies was "offset by negative market beta from long-only strategies," Man Group explains.
