Kodal Minerals PLC - London-based mineral miner - Notes high-grade surface results from its Dabakala gold project in central Ivory Coast. Expects to begin first pass drill testing from Monday. Geochemical sampling shows 2.0 grams per tonne of gold at a new discovery zone in the Dabakala concession. Previous tests of an initial 2.1 grams per tonne sample returned values of 4.2 and 3.5 grams per tonne of gold. Says infill sampling confirms high-grade gold anomaly in the concession extending for over 11 kilometres, with a surface width up to 3 kilometres. Completes field reconnaissance and mapping of artisanal working at the Dabakala project.
Targets strong zone of gold mineralisation at Nielle concession, also in the Ivory Coast. Samples from recently completed drilling at the Nielle gold project have been dispatched to the laboratory for analysis. Says drill rig secured at Fatou prospect in Mali with drilling expected to commence by the end of June.
Last week, Kodal Minerals paid GBP135,000 to secure a mining licence for its Bougouni lithium project in southern Mali, whilst the nation remained in political turmoil.
