IN BRIEF: JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Lags Behind Benchmark

JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Income Trust PLC - investment trust - For the year to the end of July, net asset value negative return was 9.1%, compared to benchmark, the MSCI Emerging Markets Index, which made a negative return of 0.6%. July 31's NAV per share was down at 126.6 pence from 145.0p the same date the year before.

"Shareholders will be disappointed by the company's performance last year and may be worried by the continuing stream of medical and economic news associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. Individuals, companies and markets across the world face difficult circumstances and we recognise the huge importance of the fiscal and monetary support which continues to be provided by many governments. We do not know how long it will take to find a safe and effective vaccine, nor to return to pre-Covid-19, 'normal' life," said Chair Sarah Fromson.

Current stock price: 120.06 pence

Year-to-date change: down 12%
