IN BRIEF: Jardine Matheson Maintains Interim Payout Amid Swing To Loss

Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd - Hong Kong-headquartered holding company with interests in retail, property, hotels and motor dealerships - Reports challenging market conditions and decreases across the board in half-year ended June 30. Revenue is USD15.91 billion, down 21% from USD20.17 billion a year prior. Swings to pretax loss of USD1.09 billion from a profit of USD3.61 billion a year before. Interim dividend kept level at USD44.00 per share. Executive Chair Ben Keswick says: "As expected, Covid-19 had a significant impact on the group's results in the first half, with Southeast Asia particularly affected. It is expected that the pandemic will continue to create uncertainty and volatility in the second half, making it difficult to predict full year performance."
