IN BRIEF: Invesco Bond Income Plus beats benchmark as net assets rise

Invesco Bond Income Plus Ltd - investment company focused on bonds and other fixed-interest securities - Says net asset value per share was 197.55 pence each as at June 30, up 1.7% from 194.29p at the end of 2020, and 8.4% higher year-on-year from 182.21p. Compares favourably to its pre-pandemic NAV per share of 188.89p at June 30, 2019.

NAV total return for the six months ended June 30 was positive 4.3%, slightly above the 3.3% returned by company's benchmark, the ICE BofA European Currency High Yield Index. Declares interim dividend of 5.25p per share. Looking ahead, says its on-track to deliver its full-year dividend target of 10.75p, up 7.5% from a 10.00p total dividend in both 2020 and 2019.

The company, previously known as City Merchants High Yield Trust Ltd, says merger with Invesco Enhanced Income raises its total assets to GBP333.0 million, up 68% from GBP197.7 million at the end of 2020.

Current stock price: 188.96 pence, up 1.6% on Wednesday morning
