IN BRIEF: International Public Partnerships notes progress on Rampion

International Public Partnerships Ltd - London-based infrastructure investor - Notes that Ofgem has published a notice under Section 81 of the Electricity Act 1989 relating to the Rampion offshore transmission project.

The notice reflects a key step towards reaching financial close on the GBP40 million investment IPP intends to make into the project.

In August 2019, IPP said it was part of a consortium which was appointed as preferred bidder for the long-term licence and operations of the offshore transmission project in south east England.

The wind farm consists of 116 3.45 megawatt wind turbine generators with an installed capacity of 400MW connected to the offshore substation platform located within the boundaries of the Rampion wind farm. Rampion is expected to transmit enough electricity to power 350,000 homes.
