InterContinental Hotels Group PLC - Denham, Buckinghamshire-based hotel chain which owns Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn - Says its booking websites and mobile app were reactivated on September 7 following a period of disruption caused by "unauthorised access to its technology systems", as announced the day before. Adds that service at its Reservation and Customer Care call centres have been recovered and all systems restored. During the period of distribution, its IHG-branded hotels continued to operate and were able to take reservations directly.
Says it has carried out additional steps as part of its recovery and assurance plans to further enhance its security measures.
"External specialists were engaged to investigate the incident, and no evidence of unauthorised access to systems storing guest data has been identified. We have also reported the criminal activity to law enforcement," the company adds.
