Hurricane Energy PLC - Surrey, England-based producer from Lancaster oil field, located west of Shetland - Says "spurious claim" against the company was struck out by the High Court last Friday. The court case was filed by "entities and individuals who claim falsely to have authority to act on behalf of the company" and who attempted to appoint Rizwan Hussain and two entities as company directors, Hurricane says. Court orders Rizwan Hussain, FVS Investment Ltd and Saret Holdings to cease attempts to appoint, remove or present themselves as directors, officers or advisers of Hurricane Energy or its subsidiaries. Instructs shareholders to ignore the invalid attempt by Rizwan Hussain to call an extraordinary general meeting.
