IN BRIEF: Henry Boot sells land plots in Edinburgh for GBP2.6 million

8th Jun 2021 12:31

Henry Boot PLC - Sheffield, England-based construction and property development business - Sells 116 plots on the southern edge of Edinburgh, to a housebuilder for GBP2.6 million. Sells the plots through land promotion business Hallam Land Management Ltd to Leicestershire-based residential property developer Barratt Developments PLC.

Henry Boot says it has now sold 449 plots in three separate phases at the same 75 acre site for GBP12.8 million total. Permission to build 100 houses at the site was granted in 2012. After an examination process, the City of Edinburgh Local Development Plan was adopted in late 2016, adding 20 more acres for housing development. This addition allowed Hallam Land to sell the 116 plots included in this third sale phase.

Nick Duckworth, managing Director of Hallam Land, says: "We are delighted to have completed the third sale to Barratt Developments on our thriving site in Burdiehouse. There continues to be a strong demand from housebuilders across the UK for strategic land, and we remain actively focused on replenishing our land bank to ensure we can continue to meet this demand."

Current stock price: 280.00 pence, flat on Tuesday
