Heavitree Brewery PLC - tenanted and leased pub company based in Exeter, Devon - Swings to a pretax loss of GBP76,000 for the six months to April 30, from GBP184,000 pretax profit the previous year. While revenue sinks to GBP846,000 from GBP2.6 million. Says it will not pay an interim dividend as "disruption and uncertainty" continues to affect the hospitality sector. Notes sale of four non-core assets, including properties and land, in the first half for GBP855,000 total.
Chair Nicholas Tucker says: "The reopening of the garden areas and, in turn, the reopening of indoor trading areas under restrictions is an early step on the road to a recovery. We have tenants in all our pubs and the feedback from our houses and the support from our customers shows great promise for the summer months and for future trading."
