IN BRIEF: Harland & Wolff Group Islandmagee court hearing delayed

7th Nov 2022 11:43

Harland & Wolff Group Holdings PLC - London-based offshore construction company - Says court has delayed its hearing for its Northern Island-based Islandmagee gas storage project, so all affidavits could be submitted in "good order". An affidavit is a sworn written statement used in legal proceedings.

Company was informed that some of the affidavits were submitted late by the applicant, No Gas Caverns Ltd. In addition, the Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs, also had lengthy affidavits to submit. Court grants an extension in order to receive all affidavits and hearing will now be held on January 16, 2023.

Chief Executive Officer John Wood commented "An extension to the hearing date is disappointing as we are keen to get this matter resolved and move the project to its next stage of development especially since we are in a national energy crisis. A fast cycle storage project like Islandmagee is exactly what the country needs at this time. Regardless of the extension to the hearing date, we remain confident of a positive outcome in January 2023."

Current stock price: 6.00 pence, down 3.3% in London on Monday
