IN BRIEF: Griffin pleased with quarterly production but stays cautious

12th Oct 2021 12:14

Griffin Mining Ltd - operator of the Caijiaying zinc-gold mine in China - Says it averaged around 100,000 tonnes of ore mined and processed at the Caijiaying mine per month in the third quarter. Tonnes processed in period is 291,737, up 5.9% from the second quarter. Notes marginal fall in zinc head grade, producing 11,607 tonnes of zinc in concentrate in three months to September 30 compared to 11,645 in three months to June 30.

"The third quarter operating results continue the wonderful production results from the second quarter. I am particularly delighted with the normalised throughput averaging over 100,000 tonnes per month in the quarter for the first time at the Caijiaying Mine," says Chair Mladen Ninkov. "Nevertheless, we remain cautious for the remainder of 2021 in light of a possible restriction of all mining and processing activities, including Caijiaying, in the lead up to the Winter Olympic games."

Current stock price: 86.20 pence, down 4.2% on Tuesday
