IN BRIEF: Greencoat Renewables To Buy 43.2 Megawatt Finland Wind Farm

15th Feb 2021 11:41

Greencoat Renewables PLC - renewable energy company with offices in London and Dublin - Inks agreement to acquire Kokkoneva wind farm in Finland from renewable energy project developer Abo Wind for EUR60 million.

Notes the 43.2 megawatt wind farm is currently under construction in Siikalatva, Finland, with start of commercial operations expected in the second quarter of 2022. Transaction will only complete when Kokkoneva is fully operational.

Adds Kokkoneva is a subsidy-free wind farm and has entered a ten-year fixed-price corporate power purchase agreement with Gasum, Finland's state-owned gas utility firm, for the majority of the electricity generated. The wind farm will use nine Nordex N149 4.8 megawatt turbines and will have a 15-year operation and maintenance contract with Germany's Nordex SE. Abo Wind will finance and manage the construction of the wind farm and will continue to provide operational management services for the wind farm once operational.
