John Wood Group PLC - Aberdeen, Scotland-based consulting & engineering firm - Appointed by mineral processing firm Green Lithium Refining Ltd as owner's engineer for the commercial-scale lithium refinery that Green Lithium plans to build and operate in the UK. Green Lithium noted that John Wood has experience delivering lithium refineries elsewhere, including in Australia. As owner's engineer, the FTSE 250 company will ensure that the engineering solutions provided to Green Lithium meet the needs of a merchant refinery and meet climate goals. Green Lithium aims for the refinery to supply high-purity lithium hydroxide to UK and European electric vehicle manufacturers, replacing some supply from East Asia. London-based Green Lithium didn't say where the refinery will be located or provide financial details of the contract with John Wood.
