Go-Ahead Group PLC - bus and train operator - Says Department for Transport has extended GTR's emergency recovery measures agreement under same terms until March 31, 2022, from current end date of September 20. Says agreement, which generates a margin of up to 1.5%, is a management contract with no financial exposure to passenger volumes.
GTR, or Govia Thameslink Railway, is run by Govia - which itself is a joint venture between Go-Ahead, owning 65%, and Keolis, with the remaining 35%. Govia also runs the Southeastern rail franchise.
"The extension of this contract recognises the vital role GTR plays in connecting communities and enabling their green and sustainable economic recovery. More people are using our rail services now than at any time during the pandemic, and we look forward to welcoming more customers back in the months ahead," says Chief Executive David Brown.
