IN BRIEF: Former Shell Turkey CEO Becomes Genel Non-Executive Director

Genel Energy PLC - Jersey-headquartered oil producer - Appointed the former chief executive of Shell Turkey, part of Royal Dutch Shell PLC, as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect. Canan Ediboglu spent nearly 30 years at Royal Dutch Shell before leaving in 2009. After leaving Shell, Canan helped Accenture set up their Turkish energy business and spent nine years assisting Maersk and APM Terminals with their port investments and networking in Turkey. She is the former president of PETDER, the Turkish Association of Petroleum Industrialists, and chair of the Oil Industry Council Turkish Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges. Her appointment means Genel has fulfilled its commitment to have an equal balance of independent and non-independent directors.
