Filtronic PLC - Sedgefield, England-based maker of advanced micro electronics - Says a "major European defence prime" contractor, which it doesn't name, has authorised Filtronic to begin work on the next phase of a long-running electronic sensor programme. Production will take place at Filtronic's new secure microelectronics facility in Sedgefield.
