Ethernity Networks Ltd - Israel-based network processing technology supplier - Delivers its 5G distribution unit field-programmable gate array implementation on top of its ACE-NIC100 field-programmable gate array SmartNIC for telco OpenRAN trials, following requests from three Tier-1 server vendors. Says server vendors will evaluate Ethernity's existing distribution unit offering, while working together on an upgraded version accounting for specific network interface controller requirements with the OpenRAN deployment. Adds server vendors will focus their efforts with Ethernity on an offering to service providers that is committed to an early rollout of OpenRAN technologies in order to achieve cost savings.
"We are seeing great strides toward the implementation of OpenRAN, along with the continued anticipated demand for field-programmable gate array-based virtualised routing and other telecom applications. We are excited by the progress we've achieved and the inroads we've made toward meeting the company's growth ambitions. We believe that with our available technology and by integrating additional functionality on our existing distribution unit implementation that will result in additional savings for the operators, we will maintain our edge over the other solution providers in this market," says Chief Executive David Levi.
