IN BRIEF: Endeavour Mining contractor dies from Ivory Coast mine blast

Endeavour Mining PLC - producer with assets in Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast - Reports death of a contractor at Ity Mine in Ivory Coast, which resulted from injuries during blasting activities. "Endeavour will conduct a comprehensive internal investigation into the incident and will work closely with the relevant local authorities. Processing activities continued while mining operations were temporarily halted on site, and all operations have now resumed," Endeavour Mining says.

Endeavour on its website says Ity mine has the longest operating history of any gold mine in Ivory Coast. Its first gold pour occurred in 1991. The company bought the mine in 2015 and increased its stake to 85% in 2018.

Current stock price: 1,538.00 pence, down 1.7% on Friday

12-month change: down 18%
