IN BRIEF: Dunedin Income Growth Beats Benchmark; Outlook Cautious

Dunedin Income Growth Investment Trust PLC - Edinburgh, Scotland-based UK and overseas companies investor - Outperforms benchmark with net asset value total return of negative 11% for six months ended July 31 compared with negative 17.8% total return of FTSE All-Share index benchmark. "The company has a large underweight position relative to the oil majors and banks, sectors in which we find it challenging to find high quality businesses in. These make up a significant part of the benchmark but did not fare so well during the period both in terms of capital performance and income," notes investment manager. NAV per share falls 13% to 275.84 pence as at July 31 from 317.04p on January 31. Cautious on outlook. Maintains first and second interim dividends at 3.0p per share.
