IN BRIEF: Dekel Agri-Vision shares fall on drop in oil production

11th Apr 2022 14:59

Dekel Agri-Vision PLC - West Africa-based agriculture company - Says crude palm oil production in March at its Ayenouan palm oil project in Ivory Coast, West Africa, was 51% lower compared to a year before. Says it achieved a crude palm oil price of EUR996 per tonne in March, up 26% year-on-year. Notes that palm kernel oil production fell 29% year-on-year to 235 tonnes from 329 tonnes in March.

"Production wise, it has been an unusual period for 7 months now, with high production during the period September to December 2021 and low production during February and March 2022. Whilst it is our expectation the second quarter of 2022 will see improvement, it is difficult for local agronomists to pinpoint the reasons for this variation and therefore forecast production, so we will continue to provide monthly forward guidance," Executive Director Lincoln Moore says.

Current stock price: 5.02 pence, down 8.6% on Monday

12-month change: up 5.6%
