IN BRIEF: DeepMatter appoints new board member from Springer Nature

DeepMatter Group PLC - Bristol-based software firm focused on digitising chemistry - Appoints Mirko Walter as non-executive director, effective immediately. Mirko is vice president of sales at Springer Nature, an academic publisher. Walter replaces Bettina Goerner, who has stepped down from her operational role at Springer Nature. Goerner joined the DeepMatter board as part of its acquisition of InfoChem GmbH from Springer Nature at the end of 2018. The EUR2.0 million purchase was paid in cash and DeepMatter shares. Berlin-based Springer-Verlag GmbH had a 7.4% stake in DeepMatter following the issue of deferred consideration shares back in September.

Current stock price: 2.38 pence, up 8.2% on Tuesday

Year-to-date change: up 19%
