Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Ltd - Guernsey-based investor in core digital infrastructure - Says Czech portfolio company Ceske Radiokomunikace, or CRA, has agreed to broadcast new channels A11 TV, A11 Sport and unnamed teleshopping channel owned by Topmerch Group. Cordiant says "exciting new revenue-generating agreements" made possible by investment in DVB-T2 broadcast technology. A11 TV, launched in April, offers domestic and international programming. A11 Sport, a joint venture with Perinvest Group, expects to start transmissions within this quarter. Sweden-based Topmerch expects to start broadcasting within the third quarter.
All three channels signed minimum three-year contracts with CRA. These follow CRA's previously announced five-year agreement with US blue chip pay TV broadcaster AMC Networks International.
Cordiant Digital says: "These contracts demonstrate the appeal of the digital terrestrial broadcast platform to regional and international broadcasters as the most sustainable and efficient way to transmit content to viewers."
