Central Asia Metals PLC - copper, zinc and lead explorer operating in Kazakhstan and North Macedonia - Posts third-quarter production hikes across the board. Copper output rises 24% quarter-on-quarter to 4,146 tonnes in the three months to the end of September. Zinc production up 3.5% quarterly to 5,742 tonnes and lead up 2.0% to 6,927 tonnes. Says on course to achieve top end of annual copper output guidance of 12,500 to 13,500 tonnes. Central Asia is on track to achieve lower end of 23,000 to 25,000 tonnes 2021 guidance range for zinc. Lead output, however, is expected to be 5% below the 30,000 to 32,000 tonnes annual guidance.
"I am pleased to report strong production from both of our operations during Q3 2021. At Kounrad, we remain on track to meet the top end of our production guidance, and at Sasa, we have reported improved zinc and lead grades for the period, which have resulted in higher metal production than the previous quarter. We expect this trend to continue into Q4, although 2021 production for lead may be in the order of 5% below our guidance," Chief Executive Officer Nigel Robinson says.
