IN BRIEF: Cambria Africa swings to annual loss on weaker performance

Cambria Africa PLC - Zimbabwe-focused investment company - For year ended August 31, 2020, swings to pretax loss of USD424,000 from profit of USD1.9 million the year before, as revenue plunged 74% year-on-year to USD1.3 million from USD5.0 million, driven by Covid-19 woes, and the inability to regain traction for its bulk payment and clearing software.

As at August 31, net asset value per share dropped 13% to 1.18 US cents from 1.36 cents the same date the prior year, driven by a reduction in the carrying value of Old Mutual Ltd, and the deterioration of the official bank rate from ZWL10.71/USD as at August 31, 2019 to ZWL83.4 as at August 31, 2020.
