Caledonian Trust - Edinburgh-based property investment and development company - Repays GBP215,000 in loan facilities. The company says it has repaid GBP115,000 in outstanding loans with interest owed to Leafrealm Ltd, another Edinburgh-based company operated by the chair of Caledonian Trust, Douglas Lowe. The sum was initially lent in July 2020 to cover short-term company expenses. Caledonian Trust owes a further GBP4.4 million in unsecured loans to Leafrealm. Repays an unsecured loan of GBP99,999 to V Baynham, the wife of the finance director of Caledonian Trust, Mike Baynham.
The company says the loan repayments were funded by the sale of the Ardpatrick Estate, located in Argyll in the Scottish highlands, for GBP2.7 million, as announced in April.
