British Smaller Cos VCT2 PLC - venture capital trust - As at March 31, net asset value per share amounts to 59.95 pence each, down from 61.6p on December 31. Says in the quarter to March 31, produces 1.0% return on its opening net asset value of 61.6 pence, compared to a fall of 1.9% in the FTSE Small Cap.
Says during the quarter, invests GBP2.4 million into new investment DrDoctor, a patient engagement and communications software platform and GBP1.2 million into new investment Xapien, which is an AI-powered software platform. Also invests GBP1.6 million into Quality Clouds to provide the runway and resources to accelerate the company's sales growth.
Declares interim dividend of 1.5p per share for 2023, to be paid on June 26 to shareholders on the company's register since at least May 12.
Looking ahead, notes a challenging economic environment. Says portfolio continues to be robust.
